Sting in Bulgaria
1996 - Sting in Concert at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, British Days in Bulgaria Festival

In the run-up to 2019, when we will mark 80 years since the British Council first came to Bulgaria, we want to look back and consider significant changes that have taken place during this period.

We want to find the 80 moments that shaped Bulgaria’s culture, education and society

We are starting now by sharing memorable photos highlighting some of our own key moments throughout the years, and as we gradually expand the selection, we want to invite you to help us tell our history through your stories too.

Later we will be asking a panel of scientists, technologists, academics, artists, writers, broadcasters and leaders, to list the most important changes in culture, education and society, and we hope to find out which ones you will find most influential by voting for them. Watch this space for news!
