Interactive outdoor activities
Expect to be wowed by chemical buskers Mark Lorch and Phil Bell-Young from the University of Hull in the UK. Don’t be too startled when you hear the blasts produced by the Bomb Squad. At 11.00, 13.00 and 17.00 on Saturday and Sunday Warsaw’s Copernicus Centre comes to you thanks to the Polish Institute in Sofia to present chemist Lucjan Staszewski, who will also explode stuff and show you what elements things are made of.
Music and algorithms
Manhattan Live: Interactive and Crowd-driven Music
Explore and interact with algorithmic music, from live crowd-driven music to an Theremin-style system that composes at the wave of a hand. On the stand, you will see the Manhattan software in action, and get to interactively explore both familiar and unfamiliar music as notes, patterns, code, chaos, and movement. Project lead and software developer, Dr Chris Nash, will also be on hand to answer all your questions about music technology, as well as the degree programme he leads at UWE Bristol.
Diversity is nice
Taste traditional culinary relishes from across the world. Multi Kulti Collective who work to support community development, the integration of migrants, human rights and the cuisines of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America, will convince you that food is just as colourful as life itself.
