Are you an adult student? Did you miss your regular class? Between weeks 5 and 10 of term you can make up the hours with a ‘jump seat’ in another class.

A ‘jump seat’ is a spare seat you can book in another class if you missed your regular class.

There is one jump seat available in every class that is not full. 

Jump seats are available between Week 5 and Week 10 of term.

Yes. You must book your jump seat by calling our Customer Service team (see below).

Yes. You must check in at Reception before you go to your jump seat class.

No. You can only book a jump seat after you have missed your regular class.

Yes. You can book up to three jump seats in one term.

No. You can only book a jump seat in a class at the same or a lower level than your regular class.

Yes. As long as the level is the same or lower than your regular class.

Yes. As long as the level is the same or lower than your regular class.

Yes. The length of the class is not important: miss one class – attend one class. 

No. And you may study something you have already done in class, but you will get useful language input and skills practice.

Yes. But he or she will not give you more help than the other students in the class.

No. You will have to share with one of the other students in the class.

Yes, but only if he or she has spare copies. If not, you will have to share with another student.

How to book your jump seat

  1. Visit the Student Learning Portal (Edmodo) to download a calendar of the classes with jump seats and see the options for your level.
  2. Call our Customer Service team on 02/ 942 43 44 during our opening hours – Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 18.00. We will check whether the jump seat for your preferred class is free and will confirm your booking.
