This year it will be the centenary of the solar eclipse of 29 May 1919 when Einstein’s general theory of relativity was confirmed for the first time through observation. Prof. Dr. Ilian Iliev from the Institute of Astronomy at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will talk about gravity, Arthur Eddington’s expedition and how the results of observing an eclipse made relativity closer to people a century ago already.
Dedicated to the Centenary of the International Astronomical Union.
