David How

David How

Teacher

David is from Guildford in the South East of England. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and CELTA Young Learner teaching qualifications. David has been teaching English since 2003 when he moved to Bulgaria. He has worked for the British Council since 2005. He is married and has a daughter who was born in Sofia in 2006. He loves to spend his free time with his family, enjoys reading and the occasional jog.

Dilyana Georgieva

Teacher

Dilyana holds a BA in English Philology from Plovdiv University and an MA in Speech and Language from Queen’s University Belfast. She is CELTA-qualified and has experience in teaching both adults and teenagers in the UK, China and Bulgaria. Having lived in various locations around the globe, Dilyana is passionate about shaping curious minds caring about the future. In her free time, Dilyana enjoys reading and travelling as well as experimenting with various cuisines.

Emma Shiekova

Emma Shiekova

Teacher

Born in Middlesbrough, North England, Emma grew up in Bulgaria and the UK. After a degree in Economics and Politics at Manchester University, she started teaching English in a London EFL school and ESOL to immigrants and asylum-seekers. Emma then combined teaching with her love of other cultures, world food and travelling (her plan: to travel to all 196 countries) in Russia, Scotland and South Korea. Emma has a CELTA, CELTA YL and Certificate of Education in ESOL and Further Education Teaching.

Gergana Stoeva

Teacher

Gergana has a BA in British and American studies from Sofia University and is currently doing a Master's degree in Written Translation. She has the Cambridge CELTA, as well as NILE training for teaching Young Learners and is more than happy to be doing her dream job at the British Council. Gerry enjoys teaching students of all ages. She is interested in painting, embroidery and all things crafty.

Gergana Tyankova

Teacher

Gerry has a BA in English Philology from Sofia University, a Cambridge CELTA certificate and has done the NILE training for teaching Young Learners. She worked as a Teaching Assistant at the British Council before becoming a teacher in 2023 and found her passion for guiding students because of that position. Gerry is fascinated by the production of animation and loves to create art experimenting with different mediums. 

Hristina Yovcheva

Hristina Yovcheva

Teacher

Hristina has M.Sc. degrees in Tourism and HR Management. She’s a CELTA-certified teacher with an IH Certificate in teaching Business English and a Thomas Int. expert in psychometric analysis. Business and Legal English are her passion, having previously had a 9-year corporate career in aviation. She taught skill-based courses to senior civil servants who represented Bulgaria at the Presidency of the EU Council. She’s an author of “Job Interviews in English”, a book translator and editor.

Iveta Taseva

Iveta Tasseva

Since receiving her Master’s degree in British and American Studies, Iveta has worked as an English teacher in Bulgaria and the UK, and has attained DELTA and CELTYL qualifications. She has significant experience of preparing students and examining for internationally recognised English language tests. In her free time, energetic Iveta enjoys swimming, skating, and mountain walking.

Keneward Hill

Keneward Hill

Teacher

Born in Peterborough, Keneward has a BA (German and Spanish), PGCE (German and French) and a TESOL Diploma. He has worked as a teacher at the British Council since 1999. Ken has significant experience of preparing students and examining for internationally recognised English language tests. He is CELTA and DELTA course tutor and regional DELTA tutor. He does translating and editing and has co-written English textbooks. He likes singing, cooking and swimming (not at the same time!).

Kristina Panteleeva

Kristina Pantaleeva

Kristina has a degree in Applied Linguistics from Sofia University as well as a Cambridge CELTA qualification. She has been teaching for more than 12 years, both in Bulgaria and the UK, and has attended a number of overseas courses. She enjoys the challenges of corporate training and adult classes are her passion because of the opportunity to communicate with people from all walks of life. Kristina likes spending time with her family and friends, exploring the mountains, skiing and horse-riding.

Lyubomir Tyuteshev

Teacher

Lyubomir has a BA in Economics. He has been teaching English for more than seven years. Having attained the Cambridge CELTA in London, he taught English to adults and adolescents at all levels. Lyubomir also prepares students for internationally recognized exams. In his spare time, he enjoys reading books, working out, and travelling around the world.
