Since the competiveness in the academic field becomes bigger and bigger, science communication turns into a challenging task for even some of the most ambitious and promising scientists in the world. How should today’s scientist interact with a wider audience? And what about with the academic community? Fergus McAuliffe, the 2013 FameLab International winner, will share his experience of winning the big award in Cheltenham (when he made the Canadian wood frog famous worldwide), the followed media interest and invitations for TED talks, and the move to a full-time science communication job.

Fergus is a PhD researcher at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at The University of Cork and TV anchor of The Science Squad and 10 Things to Know About... on the Irish National Television.
