At our Core Academic Skills course, learners develop the essential English language proficiency and academic skills needed to succeed in English-medium higher education. You’ll gain confidence in analysing academic texts, summarising and paraphrasing key ideas, synthesising information, and communicating your ideas clearly and effectively in academic contexts.

Through guided practice, scaffolded tasks, and interactive discussions, you’ll also strengthen your critical thinking, learner autonomy, and oracy skills – enabling you to actively participate in seminars, express viewpoints, and respond to others confidently. This course provides a strong foundation in academic literacy, helping you thrive in your studies and beyond.
