Тhe European Researchers’ Night is a mega event that in last 10+ years has been taking place simultaneously in about 300 cities all over Europe and beyond.

Whether with family, friends, your school, or on your own, you will find yourself exploring science in engaging ways. Discover what researchers really do and why it matters for your daily life... and even what they do besides their science!

This year the European Researchers’ Night will take place online from 27 to 29 November 2020.

This European Researchers’ Night project is funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, Grant 954776.

What is FRESHER?

FRESHER (Find Research Everywhere, SHare and expERience) is a 12-month project for organising the European Researchers’ Night 2020, funded by the European commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, Grant 954776.

FRESHER is led by the Centre for Research and Analysis with 20 partners and 35 associates across the country. The Consortium includes 14 academic institutions, Bulgaria’s only tech park, a chamber of industry and commerce, and several education entrepreneurships.

FRESHER focusses on enhancing the public understanding of and engagement with science and encouraging children, especially girls, to study STEM subjects. The programme features live-streaming, including from abroad, events at schools, competitions and citizen science; it is planned to take place in at least 25 cities/towns/villages and to pay special attention to tailored messages for underserved audiences such as people with special needs and youth at risk of dropping out of school.

Inspired by the UN’s International Year of Plant Health, we have dedicated Night 2020 to how plants help create a better future on the planet, how they relate to human health, to maths, geology, technology, culture and so much more.

Lets celebrate together the European Researchers’ Night from 27 to 29 November 2020.
