It is important that you read and accept the IELTS test terms and conditions when you register for the test.

The terms and conditions are set in the Notice to Candidates which you can download at the bottom of this page. 

The terms and conditions contain important information, including details of:

  • What you can take into the test room
  • The rules you need to follow
  • Test security
  • What you can expect from the results process

When you register online you are confirming that you have read and understood the IELTS test terms and conditions and agree to abide by them.

Please note:

IELTS test security is important to us. As an additional measure, all participants will be required to have their photograph taken by the IELTS administration staff on their test day. Please read the photography instructions you will receive after you book your test.

Candidates may postpone their test, but please note the following conditions:

You can apply for a test day transfer: 

  • If you are taken ill on the fixed test date and you would like to be transferred to another test date you should submit request for transfer and an original medical certificate confirming illness on the test date within 5 working days after the fixed date. The certificate must be bolnichen list for candidates who are employed, or medicinska belejka accompanied by ambulatoren list for candidates who are not employed. You will be transferred to a new date with additional administrative charge of 125 BGN. Please note that the requested transfer date should be no more than 3 months away. If you wish to transfer to a test date more than 3 months away you should apply for a refund and then register again. 
  • If the request is received before the registration deadline for the test date, free of charge. If your application is approved, you must select a test date within the next three-month period and this will be approved by the Administrator depending on availability for the selected test date. There may be limited availability for test dates in the first five-week period. 

To request a test day transfer, please complete and submit a Request for Refund or a Test Date Transfer Form (at the bottom of this page) .

Candidates may cancel their test, but please note the following conditions:

You can apply for a refund:

  • If you cancel your registration before the registration deadline for the test date, you will receive a full refund of the test fee. 
  • If you are taken ill on the fixed test date you should submit an original medical certificate confirming illness on the test date within 5 working days after the fixed date. The certificate must be bolnichen list for candidates who are employed, or medicinska belejka accompanied by ambulatoren list for candidates who are not employed. You will be transferred to a new date with additional administrative charge of 125 BGN.

Please complete and submit a Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form (at the bottom of this page) with the supporting evidence.  

Candidates may amend the test module (Academic/General Training) but any amendment must be made before the registration deadline for your chosen test date.
